Hermann Weißenborn (music teacher)

Hermann Weißenborn (born September 10, 1876 in Berlin ; † November 20, 1959 there ) was a German baritone and singing teacher.

Hermann Weißenborn was mostly musically trained by Raimund von Zur Mühlen . He began a career as a concert and oratorio singer. He turned to music education at an early age. He became one of the most sought-after singing teachers of his generation in Germany. From 1920 he taught at the Berlin Music Academy. From 1922 he was head of the singing department of this music college. Joseph Schmidt , Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau , Elisabeth Höngen , Marga Höffgen , Hildegard Rütgers and Petre Munteanu should be mentioned here of his many well-known students .
