Ousman Badjie (politician)

Ousman Badjie (also Ousman Badgie ; * 1967 ) is a Gambian politician and diplomat.

Life

Ousman Badjie in Banjul grew up, after his schooling he began in 1980 his military career at the Military High School in Saint-Louis in Senegal and remained there until 1987. After further military training as an officer, he joined in 1990 in the Gambia National Gendarmerie a .

In September 1994 he moved to the leadership of the Gambia Police Force . On January 27, 1999, he was President Jammeh to the Cabinet as Minister of the Interior ( State for Interior and Religious Affairs appointed) and triggered Momodou Bojang from. On May 4, 2004, Badjie was replaced by Samba D. Bah as Minister of the Interior.

Badjie was the Gambian ambassador to Morocco from 2007 to 2012 . He was then ambassador to Tunisia and Cyprus , in 2014 he was ambassador to Russia and France and permanent representative of the Gambian UN office in Geneva .

From August to November 2014 he was Minister for Transport, Labor and Communication.
