location
The waterfalls belong to the Oued Tissakht and are located at an altitude of approx. 1060 m in the Middle Atlas near the village of Ouzoud in the province of Azilal , approx. 150 km (driving distance) northeast of Marrakech and approx. 75 km southwest of Beni Mellal .
Toponym
Ouzoud is the word for "olive" in the regional Berber language and refers to various oil and grain mills near the falls.
description
The waterfalls fall in several cascades and over several floors a total of 110 m over red rocks and flow into a small lake. The banks of the waterfalls are covered with fig trees and jungle-like lianas. There is a footpath to get to the top of the falls and a steep path down to the right of the falls. At the bottom you can cross the river with a small ferry and get back up the normal way via the stairs.
Others
Above the falls there are some mills that are still in operation. During the day and at dusk can Barbary apes are observed.
