Ove Rosing Olsen

Ove Rosing Olsen (born June 28, 1950 in Sisimiut ) is a Greenlandic politician ( Siumut ) and doctor .

Life

Ove Rosing Olsen is the son of the machinist Niels Olsen and the interpreter Alma. On July 1, 1978, he married Lise Egede Hegelund (* 1952), head of tourism.

He studied at the Sorø Akademi from 1970 . In 1978 he was the first Greenlander to graduate from the University of Copenhagen in medicine . From 1978 to 1983 he was a doctor at the Nuuk Hospital . From 1983 to 1985 he worked in Sisimiut before he was appointed district doctor there.

In 1989, Ove Rosing Olsen was elected mayor of the municipality of Sisimiut . From 1991 to 1995 he was a member of the Inatsisartut . At the same time he served as Minister for Health, Environment, Industry and Trade.
