Bertram Basenach (born August 29, 1962 ) is a former German soccer player . He was used in the defense.

Career

Basenach moved to 1. FC Saarbrücken in the summer of 1986 and made his first appearance in the 2. Bundesliga on August 23, 1986 . In the 0-1 defeat against Rot-Weiß Oberhausen , he came on in the 90th minute for Guido Szesni . From then on, he was used in almost every game of the 1986/87 season . In the following season he came to a little less use. In his last season at Saarbrücken there were only eight appearances in the entire season. As a defender, he could not score a goal during this time. His last game in the second league was on June 11, 1989 in a 4-2 home win over SC Fortuna Köln , where he was substituted on for the 70th minute. During his time at Saarbrücken, he was also able to play an international role in a group game of the Intertoto Cup in 1986 . On June 21, he was in the group's last game against FC Carl Zeiss Jena in the starting line-up, the game was lost 1: 3 away.

Later career

It is known that he was eleven of the season of the Verbandsliga Saar 1998/99 as a player of VfB Dillingen and was coach of the team from Dillingen in the 2009/10 season. In addition, he has been playing for the club's over 50s since 2013 and trained them as a player-coach at least in 2015, and with them became German southwest champion in this age group.
