The Ovikokorero War Memorial ( English Ovikokorero War Memorial ) is a war memorial on Farm Harmonie not far from Okahandja in the Otjozondjupa region in Namibia . This is a national monument of Namibia since March 19, 1979 .
It is a pyramid-shaped monument four meters high. It is surrounded by four graves and commemorates 26 soldiers of the Schutztruppe for German South West Africa who died here on March 13, 1904 as part of the battle at Ovikokorero . They were on a campaign led by Major Franz Georg von Glasenapp against a nearby Herero camp . Hugo von François was among those killed .
