Oyun-Erdene Luvsannamsrai (ᠯᠤᠪᠰᠠᠩᠨᠠᠮᠰᠠᠷᠠᠢ ᠶᠢᠨ ᠣᠶᠤᠨ-ᠡᠷᠳᠡᠨᠢ, Mongolian Лувсаннамсрайн Оюун-Эрдэнэ , b. June 29, 1980 in Ulaanbaatar ) is a Mongolian politician and one of the young political leaders of Mongolia . He began his career as head of the Secretariat of the Governor of Berkh (Khentii) ( Mongolian Бэрх ), his hometown, when he was only 21 years old. Then he was recruited by the Mongolian office of World Vision International as team leader of the "Area Development Program (ADP)" at Aimag Chentii and soon afterwards promoted to the organization's zone director. Since 2009, he has held managerial positions such as Secretary and Deputy Secretary General of the Mongolian People's Party (MAN). Between 2010 and 2014 he served as President of the Mongolian Democratic Socialist Youth Union , Mongolia's largest political youth organization. He is considered one of the most important leading figures in the party because he played a decisive role in the reform of the Mongolian People's Party and helped to transform it into a modern party. In 2009 he set the party's "Development Agenda-6" platform in motion and stood by his position to delete the word "revolutionary" from the name of the Mongolian People's Party. He has already published two books. He takes the position that strengthening the middle class is one of the most important steps in a country's development. In 2016 he was elected as a member of the Great State of Chural . Since 2016 he has headed the parliamentary committee against corruption.

Oyun-Erdene Luvsannamsrai was born in Ulaanbaatar but raised in Aimag Chentii. He spent most of his childhood with his grandfather. He couldn't speak until he was 5 years old. His grandfather successfully defended him against admission to a special school and often took him to a mineral bath in Delgerkhaan and ultimately Oyunerdene learned his language. At secondary school, he proved to be a very socially active child. There he worked as a television announcer, poet and flautist and was one of the directors of the Scout Club. He studied journalism at Bers University . After graduation, he returned to his hometown.

Early career in Berkh soum

A personnel officer initially offered Oyunerdene a job as a security guard, which he accepted. After only 10 days he got the position of “Head of the Secretariat of the Governor” from Berkh (Khentii) , just because he had fulfilled the requirement to reject the work. Even during this time as a young leader, he was confronted with problems such as organizing army recruitment, the fight against alcoholism and aid for animal owners who were affected by snow disasters. In doing so, he also recognized the immense development gap between urban and rural areas, which has influenced his political position to this day and is also a topic in his book “Asian Khuleg Mongolia” (2016).

Team leader at World Vision

In his work he developed proposals to bring town and country into connection and approached several international organizations and got to know the Resident Representative of World Vision International . Mr. Warren offered him a position as a team leader in the Khan Khentii Area Development Program (ADP), a branch of World Vision on site. He later worked in the Bayanzurkh district of Ulaanbaatar, where he started the “Bayanzurkh (Rich heart) - One Heart” project. This initiative also served as the motto for the local election campaign for the parliamentary elections, which led many to vote. His many years of experience in working with international organizations led him to believe that rational public policy is the key to a country's development, which is why he became chairman of Local Branch No. 27 of the Mongolian People's Party. In 2009 he published his first book "The Vision" based on his diary, which immediately became a bestseller.

Career with the Mongolian People's Party

Harvard degree

After the Democratic Party's victory in the 2012 general election, Oyun-Erdene Luvsannamsrai went to the United States and took a Masters in Public Administration from the John F. Kennedy School of Government and graduated in 2015. Then he returned to his homeland and founded the “Asian Khuleg Mongolia” policy think tank . He is also a member of the Asia Leadership Trek.
