The Ozric Tentacles are an English space rock band with strong psychedelic rock influences. They were founded in Somerset , England in 1984 and have released 29 albums to date (2007).

Their music is a mixture of style elements from psychedelic dub, psychedelic trance , psychedelic space rock, ambient and ethnic rock . In their style, electronic sounds as well as the sounds of flutes , drums , a distorted electric guitar and other instruments glide smoothly into one another or are woven into a shimmering sound carpet . A piece with a slow, spherical dub passage can turn into hard rock that is always framed by psychedelic sounds.

Ozric Tentacles played in Germany at the Burg-Herzberg-Festival (2005). In the British scene, they have achieved cult status in relevant circles, including through numerous appearances at the Glastonbury Festival, which is known for the great variety of music and lifestyles represented there .

The band also has side projects called Eat Static and Nodens Ictus.
