The P & I Personal & computer science AG (short: P & I AG ) is a German company, the software development and IT services for the Human Resources offers corporations and public organizations. The company was listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange in the Prime Standard from 1999 to 2014 .
Company history
The origin of the company was formed in 1968 by Egbert Becker founded DOS Data Organization Service GmbH , which offered a payroll system for IBM mainframes with the software DOSLIB.LOGA . P&I Personal & Informatik GmbH emerged from it in 1993 and focused on the development of payroll software for the PC. This was published in 1995 under the name LOGA®2001 and was based on a client / server architecture with the C ++ programming language .
The company was converted into a stock corporation in 1998 and went public a year later. In addition to remuneration and travel expense accounting, the P&I AG product portfolio at that time included the personnel management modules integrated into the system for applicant management, seminar management , personnel development , personnel cost extrapolation, position planning , personnel files and employee assessment.
In 2001, the company opened an international development center in Bratislava (Slovakia), in which the country versions of P&I LOGA for Switzerland, Austria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and the Netherlands are developed.
The product range was expanded in 2002 to include the web-based employee and manager portal P&I HCM. The integration of time management followed in 2005 , as a result of which P&I provided an overall solution for all sub-areas of personnel work: payroll accounting , personnel management and time management.
With the opening of the development site in Žilina in 2008, P&I continued its European expansion, and since taking over the GRONEMEYER company for data technology, IT and organizational consulting in 2009, the software company has had a stand-alone solution for all aspects of time management, access control and workforce management .
In 2012, P&I AG in Thalwil , Switzerland, took over the shares in Davos-based Mirus Software AG, the market leader in HR software in the Swiss hotel, restaurant and tourism industry. In view of the increasing digitalization, P&I began building a new product line early on. This includes the P&I LOGA3 employee self-service system, the P&I LOGA (web) HR expert system and the P&I HR-BIGDATA knowledge pool. These components are supplemented by the additional modules P&I Applicants3, P&I Docu3, P&I Talent3 and P&I Seminar3. All of these software components are now part of the fully integrated HR platform P&I LogaAll-in, which combines the entire P&I product portfolio and follows the concept of Software-as-a-Service. The aim is to standardize and automate HR processes, which noticeably relieves the workload on the personnel departments and the employees and managers are increasingly brought to the fore.
In 2015, P&I opened the first non-European development site in Silicon Valley , California, and in 2017 a development center in Ioannina , Greece. In 2018 the company celebrated its 50th anniversary and at the same time completed the extensive renovation work at the Wiesbaden headquarters.
Changing owners
The private equity investor The Carlyle Group (NASDAQ: CG) took over P&I AG through a friendly takeover offer in 2004 after the company's founders retired. In 2013 it was sold on in a so-called secondary investment to the private equity company HgCapital . After three years, HgCapital separates from the majority stake, but continued to hold shares as a minority shareholder. The majority was acquired by the private equity company Permira , which had already invested in the software company TeamViewer .
Organizational structure and key figures
The company is represented at a total of 13 locations. The head office is in Wiesbaden (Hessen). P&I is represented nationwide with further offices in Hamburg, Iserlohn and Saarbrücken. Abroad, P&I has locations in Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Slovakia, the USA and Greece.
In the 2017/2018 financial year, the company achieved sales of EUR 128.8 million and employed 396 people.
In 2012, P&I was number 24 on Lünendonk's list of the largest standard software companies in Germany with sales of EUR 55.9 million .
Products
- P&I LogaAll-in is the fully integrated HR platform from P&I, which covers the company's entire scope of services and a high-performance IT infrastructure.
- P&I LOGA3 is the employee self-service system with which employees and managers of a company can manage their personal data. In addition, integrated modules enable workforce, qualifications and analytics management.
- P&I LOGA (web) is the HR expert system and the core HR element of the P&I HR platform. Developed for the HR experts in the HR departments, it is used for HR administration in the areas of payroll accounting, time management, position planning, cost planning, travel expense reporting and archiving.
- P&I HR-BIGDATA is the knowledge pool, data storage and at the same time the foundation and basis of the entire P&I HR platform.
- P & I + is the personnel management solution for large public administrations with complex and decentralized organizational structures.
