Pål Kraby
Pål Fredrik Kraby (born February 16, 1932 in Lillehammer , † August 8, 2009 ) was a Norwegian attorney at the Supreme Court of Norway and chairman of the Norwegian Employers' Association .
Life
In 1959 Kraby graduated from law school as cand.jur. from. In 1968 he was admitted to the Norwegian Supreme Court.
In 1963, Kraby began his work as a legal assistant at the Norwegian Employers' Association, of which he became Deputy Director in 1973. As Managing Director he was in 1979. His tenure in 1986 was a labor dispute , in which the total union federation for shorter working hours arguing. Kraby caused as a countermeasure, the lockout of workers. The strike ended in defeat for the employers, who had to make extensive concessions. As a result, Kraby had to resign in 1987 and received a high severance payment that sparked further discussion. The journalist Arne O. Holm exposed the affair surrounding this golden handshake .
In 1953 Kraby Bandy played in two international matches for the Norwegian men's bandynational team . His hometown club was IF Ready Fotball .
Kraby is the father of the lawyer Ida Hjort Kraby .
