Péter Solymos

Péter Solymos (born December 14, 1910 in Törökbecse , † October 4, 2000 in Budapest ) was a Hungarian pianist .

Life

Solymos studied in Vienna and Paris and between 1932 and 1934 with Ernst von Dohnányi in Budapest. With a state scholarship he went to London and Rome in 1947/48. In 1948 he became a professor at the Budapest Academy of Music . From 1973 he taught in Japan. In 1980 he was a juror at the International Chopin Competition in Warsaw.
