Funfairfilms ( proper spelling : FUNFAIRFILMS ) is a German-Austrian film production company based in Vorarlberg, Cologne and Berlin.

history

Funfairfilms was founded in 2010 as a free film collective and has been a GmbH since 2016 based in Austria (Vorarlberg) and Cologne. The managing director is the Austrian author, director and producer Philipp Fussenegger .

In 2016 Philipp Fussenegger received the First Steps Award in the medium-length feature film category for his diploma film “ Henry ” . The film was in 2017 for the Austrian Film Award nominations and has been in 2017 with the Goethe-Institut on South American tour.

In addition, in the spring of 2016, the production was able to turn off the pilot episode “Money doesn't play Rolex” for the concept of the comedy series “Die Schilehrer”. This celebrated its premiere in October 2017 at the Hof International Film Festival , where it became a darling of the public.

The current production “Bester Mann” (director: Florian Forsch), which was co-produced with the Art Academy for Media Cologne , premiered at the 39th Max Ophüls Prize Film Festival and won the Max Ophüls Prize in the “Best Medium-Length Film” category ".

The aim is to retain creative freedom as young, ambitious filmmakers and to create fresh impulses for the film world. New, innovative and ambivalent narrative styles as well as a fearless, unbiased approach characterize the working methods of Funfairfilms and their partners.

Projects

Funfairfilms is currently working on Philipp Fussenegger's international feature film debut, which is expected to be shot in Berlin and Los Angeles in 2019. The project received script funding from the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW and won the renowned Jets program during the Berlinale 2018.
