Pétur Haraldsson Blöndal
Pétur Haraldsson Blöndal (born June 24, 1944 in Reykjavík ; † June 26, 2015 there ) was an Icelandic politician ( Independence Party ).
Life
After attending the Menntaskólinn í Reykjavík grammar school , Pétur H. Blöndal studied at the University of Cologne , where he received his doctorate in mathematics in 1973 with his thesis Explicit Estimation of Errors in the Multidimensional Central Limit Theorem . In 1982 he was one of the founders of Kaupthing Bank .
He was from 1995 to 2003 for the then Reykjavík constituency, 2003-2007 for the Reykjavík-South constituency , 2007-2013 for the Reykjavik-North constituency and since 2013 again for Reykjavík-South member of the Icelandic parliament Althing . He served on several parliamentary committees and chaired the Committee on Economy and Trade (2003–2007) and that of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly (1996–2000).
He died of cancer on June 26, 2015 at the age of 71. Sigríður Á took his seat in parliament . Andersen one.
