Põltsamaa is an Estonian rural municipality in Jõgeva County with an area of 416.9 km². It has 4441 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2010).

The rural community surrounds the town of the same name, Põltsamaa .
structure
The rural community of Põltsamaa includes the villages Adavere , Alastvere, Annikvere, Esku, Kaavere, Kablaküla, Kaliküla, Kalme, Kamari, Kuningamäe, Lebavere, Lustivere, Mõhküla, Mällikvere, Neanurme, Nõmavere, Pau, Pauuudivere, Pauu Räsna, Sulustvere, Tõrenurme, Umbusi, Vitsjärve, Võhmanõmme, Võisiku and Väike-Kamari. The administrative headquarters are in the city of Põltsamaa (German: Oberpahlen ).
Culture and sights
The manor houses of Adavere (built in 1893, now a school and library), Lustivere (built in neo-Gothic style) and Võisiku (now a nursing home) are particularly worth seeing . Võisiku was owned by the German-Balte Timotheus Eberhard von Bock , the main character in Jaan Kross ' historical novel The Tsar's Crazy .
