history

Petinmos is mentioned for the first time in a document from the Hochstift Freising in 875. The name Peczinmos , which is derived from the word "mos" (swamp, moss) and the name of the first settler Pezzi, is found in tradition 168 of the Regensburg bishopric and the St. Emmeram monastery from the year 891 .

The municipality of Pötzmes initially belonged to the Abensberg Regional Court , then to the Mainburg Regional Court, newly established in 1857, to the Rottenburg District Office in 1862, to the newly established Mainburg District Office in 1901 and, after the renaming, finally to the Mainburg District from 1939 . In the course of the regional reform in Bavaria , the municipality of Pötzmes came to Attenhofen on January 1, 1972.
