Professional Kiteboard Riders Association

The Professional Kiteboard Riders Association (PKRA) is an international sports association for kitesurfing . The seat is in Barcelona (Spain) and the current president is Mauricio Toscano (Mexico).

The association has been organizing the annual Kite World Tour since 2000 and organizes professional kitesurfing competitions. The association also chooses the kitesurfing world champion every year.

In 2009 the association joined the International Kiteboarding Association (IKA), which belongs to the International Sailing Federation (ISAF) , which means that the kitesurfing competitions now take place under one roof. A total of eleven competitions will be held in ten countries around the world. The races are currently held in five disciplines:

  • Freestyle
  • Wave
  • slalom
  • speed
  • Course racing
