The PP-2000 ( Russian ПП-2000 ) is a Russian submachine gun . It was developed in the construction office for device construction (KBP) in Tula .
history
The construction, patented in 2001, was presented to the public for the first time at the Interpolytech 2004 in Moscow . The PP-2000 has been mass-produced and delivered since 2003. The PP-2000 was developed as a close-range combat weapon for Russian police and special forces and as a personal defense weapon for non-infantry units.
technology
The PP-2000 is a recoil loader with a fixed barrel and an unlocked ground lock . In order to achieve a sufficiently high bolt mass for the Russian types of ammunition ( GRAU index : Russian 7H21 / 7H31 ) with armor-piercing effect, the bolt was provided with a rod protruding above the barrel, which at the same time supports the loading lever, which can be folded out on both sides, similar to that of the G36 , at the top. However, the weapon cannot be operated completely with both hands, as the fire selector or safety lever is only on the left side of the plastic breech block.
The lock spring is guided in the hollow lock and on a guide rod attached to the end of the lock housing. This construction is very similar to the lock of the KK-MPi 69 .
A slotted flash hider is screwed onto the muzzle and can be replaced by a silencer .
For the PP-2000 there are double-row bar magazines with a capacity of 20 or 44 cartridges. The magazine well is housed in the pistol grip.
The Picatinny rail is integrated into the cover , which means that the PP-2000 can be equipped with telescopic sights and other aiming aids. In the fore grip there is a quick lock for various additional devices such as tactical light or laser aiming devices .
While a reserve magazine was used as a shoulder rest in earlier versions , the series model is equipped with a shoulder rest that folds to the right .
