31 patients are treated in the general psychiatric day clinic at Ringelbachstrasse 225/1. The therapeutic offer includes psychotherapeutic individual and group discussions as well as occupational and exercise therapy. Music and animal-assisted therapy and social service counseling are also offered. People with different clinical pictures are treated here: depression, anxiety and obsessive-compulsive disorder, schizophrenia, borderline disorder, people after trauma and with personality disorders. People with addiction disorders are treated in the day clinic of the addiction therapy center of the ZfP Südwuerttemberg .

Oberlinstrasse day clinic

The day clinic for people in the second half of life in the Heinrich Landerer house (Oberlinstraße 16) offers a therapeutic range for 12 patients that takes into account the special needs of older people who are retiring from working life, have to face reorientation or have to mourn losses. Accordingly, the focus is on treating people with depression and adjustment disorders. In addition to comprehensive diagnostics in the initial phase, the therapies offer individual, round-robin and group discussions, as well as creative therapies, practical support in coping with everyday life, social services advice and discussions with relatives as well as drug treatment.

Outpatient occupational therapy

Outpatient occupational therapy is suitable for patients who are already receiving specialist psychiatric treatment. A reintegration into the world of work should be made possible through occupational therapy measures. Occupational therapy measures provide support in coping with a crisis, further stabilization after a hospital stay, in bridging up to an inpatient or day hospital stay, as a supplement to outpatient psychiatric or psychotherapeutic treatment and serve to improve or maintain coping with everyday life. Outpatient occupational therapy can be prescribed by resident doctors or by doctors from the psychiatric outpatient departments.

Instant psychiatric outpatient clinic

The treatment offers of the psychiatric institute outpatient clinic are aimed at sick people who, due to the nature, severity and duration of their illness, require a special offer close to the hospital. This applies in particular to patients for whom long-term, continuous treatment is medically necessary and a lack of feeling of illness, lack of insight into the disease, or lack of impulse control prevent the perception of this continuous treatment. Another task of the psychiatric institute outpatient clinic is the short-term and temporary care of patients in the context of crisis intervention, if the motivation for treatment is difficult, after therapy discontinuation or after inpatient treatment, if multi-professional treatment is temporarily necessary and this cannot be provided in the outpatient contract medical care. The Institute's Psychiatric Outpatient Clinic therefore makes it possible to either avoid inpatient treatment or, if necessary, prepare for it through crisis intervention. In addition, after the end of clinical or day-clinic treatment, patients can still take advantage of therapeutic offers in the specialized offers or complete social-psychiatric measures with socio-educational support that were started during treatment.
