Philipp Heinrich Landerer (born August 28, 1814 in Maulbronn ; † February 8, 1877 in Göppingen ) was a German doctor.

Life

Heinrich Landerer was a descendant of a family from which up to that point mainly pastors and civil servants had emerged. He grew up in Walddorf near Tübingen in his parents' rectory. After studying medicine in Tübingen , he went on a study trip that took him to Paris and Zurich . Finally, he settled in Göppingen and worked as a general practitioner and chief surgeon.

In 1839 Heinrich Landerer married Thekla Werner, the sister of his friend Gustav Werner , whom Landerer had already met in his parents' parsonage, where Gustav Werner was doing his vicariate. Gustav Werner, the founder of the Gustav Werner brother house in Reutlingen, became a friend and role model for Heinrich Landerer.

Work and effect

Together with the Boller bath doctor Ludwig Heinrich Palm, Heinrich Landerer took over the Göppingen bath in 1839. In 1852 he opened the private sanatorium and nursing home for the mentally and mentally ill, Christophsbad . It is considered the third facility for the mentally ill in Württemberg. Heinrich Landerer's descendants are still associated with the clinics and the home as carriers. His son Werner Richard Landerer headed the estate belonging to the establishment as an economic adviser for many years . His son Gustav Johannes Landerer became the medical director of the clinic.
