Werner Richard Landerer

Werner Richard Landerer (born October 27, 1847 in Göppingen ; † October 2, 1924 there ) was a German farmer and member of the Württemberg state parliament.

Life

family

Richard Landerer was the son of the doctor Heinrich Landerer (1814–1877) and Thekla Karoline Werner (1814–1895), a sister of Gustav Werner . He had seven siblings, but four of them died early. Since 1874 he was married to Sophie Pfizer (1854-1906) and they had five children.

Landerer studied agriculture at the University of Hohenheim . After graduating, he traveled to Denmark and England. In 1870 he was wounded as a lieutenant hunter in the Franco-German War . From 1873 he worked in the private insane asylum Christophsbad founded by his father in Göppingen . In 1859 the clinic founded an “agricultural colony” on the Freihof, which Richard Landerer managed until the beginning of 1924 and expanded it into a large model farm. He received the honorary title of economics councilor.

In addition to his professional activity, he was a member of the board of the Göppingen agricultural district association and a member of the board of the Gauverband der agricultural district associations. He was also an agricultural consultant on the supervisory board of his uncle's Gustav Werner Foundation .

politics

Richard Landerer was a member of the national liberal German party . He sat on the city council of Göppingen and on the district council. In 1882 he won the Göppingen state parliament mandate and was a member of the Württemberg state parliament until 1888 .
