PROCON-WIN

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

PROCON-WIN is a scalable HMI / SCADA software, the machine operation on panels and as a redundant client-server - control system can be used for complex and high-availability systems. The system was first brought onto the market in 1993 by the manufacturer GTI mbH (today GTI-control mbH) from Marktheidenfeld and has been further developed in many stages to this day.

history

The system originated from the PROCON visualization system (acronym for process control), which was first launched in 1989 and was available for the MS-DOS operating system. The first versions of PROCON-WIN (1994: V1.12) were implemented as 32-bit solutions mainly in C and only available as a single-user system. With PROCON-WIN 4.x in 1997, the system was expanded to include a client-server variant with redundancy . With Windows CE, embedded operating systems were supported from 2004 onwards . With the change to version 5 in 2009, there was an extensive changeover to C # , combined with a newly developed project planning tool. From 2015, PROCON-WEB, the web-based successor solution, will be available on the market, which is also suitable for embedded applications.

System structure and system requirements

PROCON-WIN is an HMI-SCADA system whose functions are defined using a project planning tool (designer). A runtime system interprets the project data resulting from the configuration and implements the desired functionality. Communication drivers are used for data exchange with various control systems. A simple runtime system, including the configuration data, can be installed using drag & drop and requires few resources. Client-server systems only require server-side installation. The software is implemented for Windows operating systems and is consistently suitable for Windows 3.1 to Windows 10 (32 and 64 bit) and the server operating systems up to Windows Server 2016 . Versions for Windows CE are also available.

commitment

PROCON-WIN is a scalable and open HMI / SCADA system that has been used in well over 30,000 installations worldwide since 1994 for process visualization , as a process control system and as a human-machine interface .

properties

PROCON-WIN is a Windows-based system that can be used consistently from Windows CE to Windows Server 2016 . The scalability ranges from single-user applications on panels to redundant client-server systems . The project planning takes place across the board with a project planning tool. Coupling to all common control systems is possible through different communication drivers and OPC .

Industry sectors

PROCON-WIN is used in the following industries, among others:

  • Plant construction and production
  • mechanical engineering
  • Food & Beverage
  • Pharmaceutical Industry
  • Chemical industry
  • Building automation
  • Energy industry
  • Water / wastewater treatment
