Persatuan Sepakbola Indonesia Mataram, PSIM for short, is a football club from the city of Yogyakarta , Indonesia . The association was founded in 1929 in what was then the Dutch East Indies as Persatuan Sepakraga Mataram (PSM) . In 1930 it was renamed PSIM. The name is reminiscent of the Kingdom of Mataram , from which today's Sultanate of Yogyakarta emerged .
The club currently plays in the second highest league in the country, Liga 2 .
Stadion
The club plays its home games in the 35,000-seat Mandala Krida Stadium . The stadium, which was last renovated in 2013, is a possible location for the U-20 World Cup in 2021 and is to be renovated for it.
