content

The story takes place in the near future: Today's Oslo is preserved in the form of a gigantic amusement park called "Old Times" within the future Oslo. People enjoy the blessings of modern technology. Gender, age and appearance can be determined by yourself, that is, whoever no longer has any desire for his current biological gender, simply undergoes a procedure called "flux conversion".

The main character of the novel, P, works as a "plot sketcher" at "Symposium", a publishing company . While the actual writing work is done by computer programs, P's job is to enrich the storylines of the novels with irrational elements so that they don't run too smoothly and appear "more human".

In his private life, P cultivates abstruse theories, such as the one that all of humanity is an intergalactic herd of pigs hiding here on earth. However, it soon becomes clear that P has a secret that is not only hidden from him (or her), but that above all attracts the interest of others. This is how P registers that even people closest to him / her suddenly behave suspiciously. In order to uncover the secret, he / she has to embark on a dangerous journey into the abysses of the society of the future.
