history

Peter Abel GmbH took over the Vacuum Metallurgy Systems division from what was then Arthur Pfeiffer Vakuumtechnik Wetzlar GmbH , today's Pfeiffer Vacuum Technology AG . This was renamed PFEIFFER Vakuum-Metallurgie Anlagenbau GmbH in 1991 as part of employee participation . In 2002 the company was merged with the listed TePla AG from Munich to form PVA TePla AG. The shares have been listed in the Prime Standard of the German stock exchange since 2003 . At the end of July 2008, the operative business of the subsidiary UV Systec Gesellschaft für UV-Strahler und Systemtechnik mbH was sold to uv-technik Speziallampen GmbH . In 2008 the company relocated its headquarters from Asslar to Wettenberg; a new company building with 26,000 square meters (13,000 square meters of which was usable for production and administration) was built in Krofdorfer Westpark for around 25 million euros.

Company structure and products

The business is divided into the two business areas Industrial Systems and Semiconductor Systems. In the Industrial Systems division, a. Vacuum sintering systems are produced which are used for the production of hard metal tools. The Semiconductor Systems division produces crystal growing systems for the production of silicon crystals, plasma systems for manufacturing processes in the semiconductor industry and in the life science sector, as well as analysis devices for quality control of high-tech materials. In the Solar Systems division, which was merged with Semiconductor, crystal growing systems were built for the production of silicon crystals in the photovoltaic industry. The company has branches in Germany, the USA and China.
