The PZA Loara ( Polish P rzeciwlotniczy Z estaw A rtyleryjski ; German "Anti-aircraft gun system" ) is a fully autonomous , all-weather anti-aircraft tank (FlakPz) of Polish production.
description
The anti-aircraft gun tank was developed in Poland in the late 1990s and is based largely on the chassis of the PT-91 Twardy. The PZA Loara was originally planned as a complement to the PZR LOARA anti-aircraft missile tank , but the PZR-LOARA project was discontinued. It uses the proven Oerlikon 35mm automatic cannon . The Polish Army uses two copies for testing purposes. A total of 48 vehicles were planned to be purchased. However, there was ultimately no introduction to the Polish army.
technology
The anti-aircraft tank is equipped with two radar systems. For target reconnaissance, the PZA Loara has a high-performance fold-down 3D circular search radar with a range of 26 kilometers at the rear of the tower . It can track and identify 64 targets at the same time. The search radar can also be operated while the tank is moving ( Search on the Move ), with the data being updated every second. The follow-up radar is located on the tower front. The vehicle is also equipped with a laser range finder, TV and FLIR cameras. This equipment enables the PZA Loara to operate in areas that are affected by strong electronic interference . The system's response time is less than ten seconds. The PZA Loara can effectively fight low-flying air targets at speeds of around 500 m / s up to an altitude of 5000 meters. The vehicle can also fight lightly armored ground targets.
