Paadenurme is a village ( Estonian küla ) in the rural municipality of Avinurme ( Avinurme vald ). It is located in the Ida-Viru district ( East Wierland ).

Description and history

Paadenurme has 19 inhabitants (as of 2010). The village has an area of ​​almost 2300 hectares. 80% of it is covered with forest. The Avinurme oja stream flows through the village .

Paadenurme was first recorded on the map of the German Baltic cartographer Ludwig August Mellin at the end of the 18th century .

The nature reserve Paadenurme ( Paadenurme looduskaitseala ), which is particularly known for its stork colonies, extends around the village . The area of ​​the nature reserve is 267 hectares.
