Pablo Chinchilla Vega (born December 21, 1978 in San José ) is a Costa Rican soccer player. He plays as a defender.

life and career

Chinchilla started his career at home with LD Alajuelense. In 1998 he joined the first team of the Costa Rican top club. With Alajuelense he was five times champion in his home country. In 2005 he moved to Los Angeles Galaxy in the USA , where he was jointly responsible for the US championship and cup victory in 2005. In 2006 he went to Austria to SCR Altach , where he also played until 2008. Then Chinchilla returned home and was under contract with Municipal Liberia. In January 2009 he returned to the Alpine region and again moved to the top Austrian league at LASK Linz .

Internationally, he has played 39 times for the national team of Costa Rica. He took part in the Gold Cups in 2000 , 2003 and 2007 . He was also part of the Costa Rica squad at the 2002 World Cup in Japan and South Korea .
