Pablo Alejandro Marini (born January 31, 1967 in Santa Fe , Santa Fe Province ) is a retired Argentinian football player in the position of a striker who began working as a coach after the end of his active career .
Life
player
Marini began his footballing career in the youth division of the Newell's Old Boys . In his 15-year professional career (from 1987 to 2002) he scored a total of 154 goals. He set a national record in his home country while at Arsenal de Sarandí when he scored a total of nine goals in eight consecutive games. He was also the top scorer in the Primera B Nacional twice : in the 1996 Clausura with 15 goals and in the 1997/98 season with 29 goals. He is also the most successful goalscorer in the club's history with 68 goals he scored for Club Atlético San Martín .
Trainer
Marini held his first position as head coach in 2007 with his former club Newell's Old Boys . At the beginning of January 2014 he was hired as head coach of the relegation-threatened Club Atlante , but could not prevent its relegation from the top Mexican league due to the negative three-year balance of the Potros . For the coming second division season 2014/15 Marini signed with the newly founded Mineros de Zacatecas .
