Pablo Palazuelo

Pablo Palazuelo (born October 6, 1916 in Madrid ; † October 3, 2007 there ) was a Spanish painter and sculptor . He is considered one of the most important abstract painters of the 20th century; he was well known, especially in Spain.

Life

Palazuelo began studying architecture in Madrid and Oxford . From 1939 he devoted himself exclusively to painting and sculpture. Due to the dictatorship of Franco, he left Spain for France in 1948. In the same year he and his friend Eduardo Chillida were able to exhibit their abstract paintings for the first time in Paris . He did not return to his home country until 1969. Palazuelo died in Madrid in October 2007, three days before his 91st birthday.
