A packing hook , also lifting hook , hand lifting hook or forest hook , is a tool in forestry that is used to set up plywood . It is primarily used to lift and transport wooden rolls.

Modern packing hooks have plastic-coated D-handles and a mass of around 600 g. A use value recognition can be applied for from the forestry examination committee of the board of trustees for forest work and forest technology .
