Paedagogia Basiliensis
EE Paedagogia Basiliensis is a secondary school association of the city of Basel . It was founded on February 22nd, 1845 , exists to this day and is one of the older middle school associations in Switzerland, which, like many other middle school associations, was founded at that time. Jacob Achilles Mähly , who later became professor of Latin language and literature at the University of Basel , is considered to be its founder .
The former members of the Paedagogia include numerous famous personalities, including the first Basel representative in the Swiss state government, Ernst Brenner .
Originally only accessible to students of the former education (today synonymous with the last two years of school in the Gymnasium am Münsterplatz ), the oldest high school in Switzerland , the connection is now open to all students of the Basel high schools. The connection is non-striking and has the colors blue-white-blue, combined with the motto “Litteris et Amicitiae”.
