Pafawag Wroclaw

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Pafawag Wrocław was a Polish sports club in Wroclaw that existed from 1945 to 1997. Predecessor clubs were the VfR 1897 Breslau and the SC Schlesien Breslau , which were merged in 1934 to form VfR Schlesien 1897 Breslau and no longer existed after 1945.

The women's football department was one of the most successful clubs in their country in the early 1980s. They won the national championship twice and the Polish Cup twice.

In the early 1990s, due to the political upheaval in Poland, the team lost connection in the league and later rose from it. The association was liquidated in 1997. Since 2009 the former stadium area has been built with residential and commercial buildings.
