Pagan Amum
Pagan Amum (full name Pagan Amum Okech ) (*? In Malakal ) is the Secretary General of the Sudanese People's Liberation Movement (SPLM) in Sudan and diplomatic advisor to Salva Kiir , the President of the Autonomous Region of South Sudan .
He was born in Malakal , is a member of the Shilluk and before 1998 was the commander of the Sudanese People's Liberation Army (SPLA) for the Eastern Equatoria region .
He was instrumental in the peace negotiations with the Sudanese government in Khartoum , which ended the war of civil secession in South Sudan in 2005.
