The island of Pagerungan Kecil ( German Klein-Pagerungan ) belongs to the Indonesian Pagerungan Islands and thus to the Kangean Islands .

overview
Pagerungan Kecil forms the Pagerungan Islands together with Pagerungan Besar ( German Groß-Pagerungan ) to the east . You are in the northeast of the Kangean Islands. The entire archipelago is located in the Bali Sea , north of the island of Bali and north-east of Java to the Kangeaninseln belong administratively. Pagerungan Kecil forms an administrative village (Desa) of the district ( Indonesian Kecamatan ) Sapeken in the administrative district ( Indonesian Kabupaten ) Sumenep of the province of East Java ( Indonesian Jawa Timur ).
Most of the island's population is on the west coast. Here are also the only openings in the coral reef that otherwise surrounds the island. Pagerungan Kecil has an area of 5.6 km².
climate
The climate is tropical and is determined by the monsoons . The annual precipitation is 1500 to 2000 mm, the air temperature between 22 and 33 ° C. The water temperature is 26 to 29 ° C. The underwater visibility in the sea is up to twelve meters.

The island is densely overgrown with coconut palms.
In 2008, the sea cucumber population was studied in the waters around the islands . Found (sorted by frequency) Holothuria hilla , Actinopyga Lecanora , Stichopus horrens , Actinopyga mauritiana , Stichopus variegates , Holothuria fuscopunctata , Euapta godeffroyi , Holothuria impatiens , holothuria leucospilota (Holothuria leucospilota) , Holothuria scabra , and spotted Wurmseegurke ( Synapta maculata ).
Residents
On Pagerungan Kecil, 5,232 people (2010 census) live in around 800 households. They are mostly Muslim.
history
The island was not settled until the beginning of the 20th century.
On Pagerungan Kecil was Samudraraksa built a reconstruction of Borobudur , as in the 8th century in the Malay Archipelago was used. The replica was based on the reliefs found in the Borobudur temple on Java. In 2003/2004 the Briton Philip Beale sailed with this 19 meter long sailing boat from Tanjung Priok to Accra in Ghana . The aim was to demonstrate the possibility of trade between Southeast Asia and West Africa.
