Paideuma (magazine)

Paideuma. Mitteilungen zur Kulturkunde is an anthropological journal founded in 1938 by the cultural anthropologist Leo Frobenius (1873-1938) and published with the support of the Frobenius Society ( German Society for Cultural Morphology ) . It is one of the oldest and most renowned in its field in the German-speaking area. Essays on the history and ethnography of Africa were initially published in the journal , followed by Oceania as a focus. According to the Frobenius Institute at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main , plans are in place for the next few years to expand the geographical reference to South and Central Asia . The magazine appears once a year. From November 2018 it will be published by Dietrich Reimer Verlag .
