Painkiller (cocktail)
The Painkiller is a cocktail with rum . Traditionally, dark rum, orange juice , pineapple juice and sweetened Cream of Coconut are mixed first, then shaved ice is added and finally some nutmeg is rubbed on it.
The Painkiller is the official cocktail of the British Virgin Islands . It was invented in the 1970s at the Soggy Dollar Bar on Jost Van Dyke Island .
Original recipe
- 4 parts pineapple juice
- 1 part orange juice
- 1 part Cream of Coconut
add the following portion of rum depending on the desired amount:
- for Painkiller # 2: 2 parts Pusser's Rum (dark rum)
- for Painkiller # 3: 3 parts of Pusser's rum
- for Painkiller # 4: 4 parts of Pusser's rum
together with crushed ice ( crushed ice ) mix and freshly grated nutmeg Sprinkle.
