Pakxong (also Paksong ; Lao : ປາກ ຊ່ອງ , "mouth of the Xong River") is a city in the Lao province of Champasak on national road 8 and the largest place in the Bolaven Plateau , which is mainly in Champasak.

During the Second Indochina War , the city was completely destroyed in air raids by the US Army.

Pakxong is considered to be the center of Lao coffee production .
