The Palacio de los Condes de Alba y Aliste is a former noble palace in Zamora , a Spanish city ​​in the autonomous community of Castile and León , which was originally built in the 15th century . The building is a protected architectural monument ( Bien de Interés Cultural ).

history

The palace, which was built from 1469, is located in the historic center of Zamora. It was built for the first Conde de Alba de List, Enrique Enríquez de Mendoza. During the Comuneros uprising , the building was almost completely destroyed and then rebuilt in the Renaissance style.

description

The palace has a large inner courtyard ( patio ) with surrounding two-story arcades , which have recently been closed with windows. There are medallions with motifs from mythology above the pillars . A magnificent stone staircase leads to the first floor.

Todays use

In the palace is located since 1966 a Parador , a four-star - hotel with a restaurant .
