Palacio de los duques de Alba
The Palacio de los duques de Alba (Eng .: Palace of the Dukes of Alba ) is a palace in Piedrahíta , a city in the Spanish province of Ávila in the autonomous region of Castilla y León . The palace has been a protected architectural monument ( Bien de Interés Cultural ) since 1993 .
History and description
The palace was built as a summer residence for the Dukes of Alba between 1755 and 1766. The plans for the baroque building were designed by the French architect Jacques Marquet (1710–1782).
The two-storey building in the shape of a U has a large inner courtyard. At the rear there is a park.
