Palais Bose

The Palais Bose , sometimes also known as the Prinz-Wilhelm-Palais or Wilhelmspalais , is a historic building at Johannisstraße 13 in the Neustadt of Dessau .

The late Classicist building was built from 1800 to 1803 by Count von Bose , a chamberlain to Prince Franz . Other sources assume that construction began in 1796.

After it was used as the Count's residence, the Georgsbibliothek (today in the Anhalt State Library in Dessau ) and later the ducal public library were housed in the building.

After the Second World War , the Anhaltische Gemäldegalerie was temporarily housed in the Palais Bose from 1950 to June 1959, before moving to the Georgium Palace . The now vacant building was used in the GDR as the pioneer house " Bruno Kühn ".

Since 2003, after extensive renovations, it has been the senior residence of Avendi Senioren Service GmbH .
