Rothschild Palace (Metternichgasse)
The Palais Rothschild is a palace in Vienna . It is located at Metternichgasse 8 in Vienna's 3rd district, Landstrasse . The building is also known as the Palais Springer because it was owned by the Springer family before the Rothschild family.
The palace was built from 1891 to 1893 for the Baron Othon de Bourgoing based on designs by the architects Amand Louis Bauqué and Albert Pio. De Bourgoing had the Palais Bourgoing at Metternichgasse 12 built by Bauqué and Pio as early as 1890 . Today there is a branch of the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna in the Palais Rothschild .
