Bourgoing Palace
The Palais Bourgoing is on the 3rd Vienna district highway , Metternichgasse 12 and is under conservation ( list entry ).
history
The Palais Bourgoing was built in 1890 for the Baron Othon de Bourgoing based on designs by the architects Amand Louis Bauqué and Albert Emilio Pio , who a year later built another palace for the Baron at 8 Metternichgasse (today's Palais Rothschild ). The company Heinrich and Franz Glaser received the contract for the construction . The Vienna Film Academy has been based in the Palais since the academic year 1968/1969 .
description
The late historic palace has a banded facade with Neoempire decorative elements below the windows on the top floor and in the lintels under the triangular gables. The asymmetrical corner projections and the portal with beautiful latticework in a semicircular arch with coat of arms cartouches are striking . Three consoles with rich Empire decorative elements support a balcony with a beautiful wrought iron grille.
