Palais de Chaillot
The Palais de Chaillot in Paris was built by Louis-Hippolyte Boileau , Léon Azème and Jacques Carlu for the 1937 World's Fair on the foundations of the former Palais du Trocadéro .
architecture
The Palais de Chaillot was built in the neoclassical style on the eastern slope of the Hauteurs de Chaillot (Eng .: hills of Chaillot) facing the Seine and comprises, given by the foundations of the side wings of the previous building, two long wings curved in a quarter segment with a central extension, which continue on both sides in monumental pavilions.
Between the two main pavilions, which are designed as corner projections , there is an open space in the middle, which, as a homage to the Palais du Trocadéro , which once stood there , corresponds to the cubature of its main central section, the concert hall. When it was rebuilt in 1937, an enclosed part of the building was deliberately omitted because the open space that was created, which is open to the public at all times, opens up the - now most famous - view of the Eiffel Tower . It also allows a passage to the spacious terraces of the Jardins du Trocadéro , crossing these you can comfortably walk over the Pont d'Iéna to the Eiffel Tower.

It can be reached via the Trocadéro metro station (Métrolinie 6 Nation <> Charles de Gaulle / Étoile, Métrolinie 9 Pont de Sèvres <> Mairie de Montreuil).
