Palazzo Caotorta Angaran
Palazzo Caotorta Angaran is a palace in Venice in the Veneto region of Italy . It is located in the Dorsoduro sestiere , overlooking the Grand Canal between the Palazzo Balbi and the Palazzo Civran Grimani .
history
The palace was built in the 14th century and completely restored in 1956 under the supervision of the architect Angelo Scattolin
description
The palace has a plastered facade that is divided according to Venetian tradition: the ground floor has a portal to the water, the two main floors have multi-part windows and above that there is a mezzanine floor under the roof. A large mansard unfolds above the eaves . The facade, which is kept particularly simple in terms of decorations, appears interesting thanks to the highlighted cornices and an 18th-century coat of arms between the windows of the mezzanine floor. As for the three-part windows , both are reminiscent of the classic Venetian window , although the lower one is more important.
