The palace is accessible via the private Ponte di Ca 'Cappello .

history

The palace was built in the early 16th century. It was created by Bartolomeo Bon the Younger , a follower of Mauro Codussi, on behalf of the Trevisan family . In 1577 the palace came into the hands of Bianca Cappello , who gave it to Francesco I de 'Medici .

description

The Palazzo Trevisan Cappello is one of the most architecturally appealing buildings of the Venetian Renaissance . Its façade, which is notable for its large number of 37 openings, extends over four floors, each of which, with the exception of the ground floor, has a central six-fold arched window , flanked by two pairs of just such individual windows. On the ground floor, three portals open to the water, with two rectangular windows between each. The facade appears lively thanks to the designs of colored marble and the different balconies that protrude to different degrees. What is unusual is that the palace was divided into two properties with different owners.
