The Palenica (German: Spitzberg ) is a mountain in Poland . It is located in the municipality of Bielsko-Biała . With a height of 688 m, it is one of the lower mountains in the Klimczok ridge of the Silesian Beskids . The mountain is a popular tourist destination with many views of the neighboring mountains and the lowlands.
On the summit there was a fortification of the Lusatian culture from the 1st millennium BC. The approximately 1.5 to 2 m high fastening ring is still preserved. There are around a hundred smaller cairns nearby.
During the Counter-Reformation under the Habsburgs , forbidden Protestant services took place on the Palenica .
