Pallas class

As Pallas-Class is a class of ships of at least 59 frigates referred that in 1808 in France was introduced. As early as 1756 there was another Pallas class .

The class of ships was designed by Jacques-Noël Sané in 1805 and was named after their first ship, the Pallas (1808) , which in turn was named after the goddess of wisdom . The first launch was that of the Pallas in 1808, the last one of the Armide in 1821 . Some ships were built in Dutch and Italian shipyards and put into service by the Dutch and Austrian navies.

All ships of this class could have up to 40 cannons , of which 28 were 18-pounders and 12 were 8-pounders .
