Palma Sola is a small city in Mexico with approx. 3,100 inhabitants; it is located in the state of Veracruz in the Municipio Alto Lucero de Gutiérrez Barrios on the Gulf of Mexico .
Economically, the small town is geared towards tourism. The main sources of income are shops along the beach, catering establishments and three hotels. American tourists are mostly on the beach, especially at the beginning of summer.
In the immediate vicinity of the city is the only state nuclear power plant in Mexico, the Laguna Verde nuclear power plant .
