The Palm Waldsänger ( Setophaga palmarum , Syn. : Dendroica palmarum ) is a small bird from the kind of tree Waldsänger in the family of Waldsänger (Parulidae).

These birds have dark legs and narrow, pointed beaks, and adult birds often have a russet skull. The palm warbler in the eastern United States is characterized by brown-olive back, yellow belly and rust-brown stripes on the chest and flanks. Birds in western North America have a light belly, darker stripes on the chest, and a brown-gray back.

The breeding grounds of the Palm Warbler are rain bogs in Canada and the northeastern United States . The birds build their cup-shaped nests on or near the ground.

These migratory birds overwinter in the southeastern United States , Mexico, and the Caribbean islands .

Palm warbler forage on conifers and the ground and occasionally catch insects in flight. They feed mainly on insects and berries.

The singing is like a monotonous trill. The call is a sharp check .

You can recognize these birds by their frequently wobbling tails.
