Palo Alto Records
Palo Alto Records was an American jazz label from the 1980s.
The record label Palo Alto Records was founded in 1981 by Jim Benham and was based in Palo Alto , California . The artistic director was Herb Wong (1926-2014). The independent label released albums by John Abercrombie / John Scofield , Pepper Adams , Buddy DeFranco / Terry Gibbs , Victor Feldman , Jimmy Forrest , Elvin Jones , Sheila Jordan , Meredith D'Ambrosio , Arnie Lawrence , Marvin Stamm , Denny Zeitlin , Mal Waldron and Phil Woods . Electronic dance music and smooth jazz by Dianne Reeves , George Howard and Alvin Hayes were distributed on the sub-label TBA Records .
In 1985 the company stopped its activities.
